Becky Matthews began working for Guaranty Title Company of Leon County in December 1982. Being new in the business, her initial assignments included assembling together microfilm copies, filing, answering the phone, handling the mail, and running errands. As she became more familiar with the business additional duties were added to her job. Becky did abstracting and typed policies. She also typed commitments and worked with customers. In July of 1984 the company implemented several changes, including computerization of several functions in the office. Eventually the entire office was automated. Becky was the only employee present during the entire evolution, so she trained all new personnel on the computer equipment. In 1988 Becky was promoted to Office Manager and Escrow Officer. Her duties today include supervising the entire staff,  closing transactions including commercial and mortgage loans, disbursing funds, title examinations and customer services. Becky was voted 2002 Employee of the year by the Centerville Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband Ray have three sons and three granddaughters.
